Setup & key ideas
Also called leg lasso grip break · lasso knee wedge
Before you start
- You are standing in a balanced base inside an established lasso and spider-guard grip, with the lasso foot behind your upper arm.
Key ideas
- Bring your elbows toward your body as far as the lasso allows.
- Place the knee near the end of their lasso foot to move that leg and release the sleeve grip.
- Circle the freed arm inside and address their remaining leg control before attempting a pass.
Common pitfalls
- Balancing on one knee while their sleeve and leg controls remain.
- Treating the broken sleeve grip as a finished guard pass.
