Setup & key ideas

Also called front headlock sit-out · peek out to top turtle

Before you start

  • You are on your knees under front head-and-arm control, with space at their elbow rather than a tight connected grip.

Key ideas

  • Check that the elbow leaves room for your head to pass.
  • Catch the elbow, support yourself on your other elbow and opposite foot, and sit through.
  • Keep your neck and shoulder connected to their body as your head clears, then push off the planted leg to circle behind.

Common pitfalls

  • Forcing the peek-out when their connected grip closes the elbow space.
  • Calling the circle behind a completed back mount before establishing rear control.
