Setup & key ideas
Also called no gi knee slice · no-gi knee slide
Before you start
- Open guard with access to their ankles and space to establish inside upper-body control.
Key ideas
- Control their feet as you close distance, then establish your hands inside at the upper body.
- Redirect the hips before changing to the knee-cut side, keeping your elbow inside their thigh.
- Stay low to block the returning shield, then secure upper-body control as your leg clears.
Common pitfalls
- Changing sides without the inside elbow barrier gives their knee shield a route back in.
