Setup & key ideas
Before you start
- A standing opponent is circling past your legs but has not pinned your upper body; you can still frame against their upper arm.
Key ideas
- Meet the circling passer with a frame on their biceps.
- Bring the far leg over that arm to rebuild a leg-and-arm barrier.
- Follow their movement through those connections and turn back to face them when space opens.
Common pitfalls
- Waiting for a settled chest-to-chest pin.
- Treating temporary leg contact as a completed guard recovery.
